thanks for mentioning the Ken's Roadie site

the Mutron III showed up in the late 70's as Elbow suggests and was used on Shakedown, Stranger...but i remember seeing him using a conventional wah on Greatest Story and some of the Playing jams in the 80's...my guess is the "Ernie volume pedal" they show is also capable of wah (?)

(if you're into it, check out the guitar wiring schematic "effects loop" that allows full pickup signal to go the effects before returning to the guitar volume, then onto the amp...this way the Mutron's sensitive "gate" is only affected by how hard the strings are struck w/o the guitar's volume control getting in the way)

was that what he used for those sugar mags in '71? I know he was using the filter later.
